Is content@ingram a stand-alone product or will I need something else to use the data?
content@ingram is NOT a stand-alone product. It is simply data that exists to support the application that you must develop. content@ingram is primarily used by online booksellers or customers building a custom in-store inventory management/POS system. Consult with your programmer/developer for the necessary software tools and hardware that will be required to build your website or system.

Will I need a programmer?
Yes. You will need a talented, experienced programmer to work with content@ingram. We suggest you use the following guidelines in choosing a developer:

· If you choose the web service delivery method of content@ingram, your programmer needs to be able to use Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) to post a request to the web service. He/she will be dealing with search mnemonics and XML structures.

· If you choose the bulk download delivery method of content@ingram, your programmer should be comfortable working with large fixed-width text files and have some database administration skills.

Is content@ingram a web hosting service?
No. content@ingram is simply data that you can use with your own website. You will need to build your own search engine, shopping cart etc.

How does content@ingram differ from PROfiche?
The PROfiche database has a limited number of fields with short titles with abbreviations, short author fields, etc. It is designed to be used with an inventory management system for quick lookup of titles. PROfiche does not have book cover images or annotation descriptions. PROfiche is only produced once per month.

content@ingram has more than 60 fields with plenty of room for the complete title, author, etc. Many, many other data elements are provided to help you build a full featured website or in-store system.
